  11. Chef’s hat Cafe

Cave Point County Park

The main reason for our trip, which was a bucket list item for myself! The park boundaries itself are small, but there are trails all along the cliff so you can explore a fair distance. There is a parking lot right in front of what is one of the best view points so its easily accessible. We went both around 9am and the next Sunday at sunrise. It is very slippery so watch for ice and dress warm!

Stay In A Cute Cabin

We absolutely LOVED our cabin in the woods in Bailey’s Harbor! We found it on Airbnb. Great price and great location central to everything. There are tons of other options but I definitely recommend this one if its available. So nice to come back and spend evenings by the fire hanging with friends!

Peninslua State Park

Since it was frozen over, we were able to walk out to and explore Horseshoe island! There are many other trails to explore so you can spend lots of time there. There is also an overlook with a tower (see image). The tower was closed but you still got good views!

Peninsula State Park

Hatch Distilling

Super cute distillery. They make all their products with honey, which they collect from their own bees (as well as other bees) We did a full flight of tasting, at $2 a glass it was very reasonable. I recommend the limoncello, I bought some to bring home!

Hatch Distilling

Door County Brewing

Also the home of Hacienda Beer Co, this taproom is a great place to grab a beer. Plenty of different options for all palates. They also had fire pits if you wanted to stay warm while drinking outside!

Porte Des Morts Park/Washington Island Ferry

These two locations are very close together and quick to see. Just drive up to the ferry take off point just to take a look or read about the shipwrecks. The park has a nice staircase down to the water and was fun to explore with all the ice.

Porte Des Morts

Wild Tomato Pizza

With a two locations in Door County, this spot is great for a casual meal. Popular, so it was a long wait so be prepared! Very cheesy and interesting pizzas.

Hinterland Brewery

Technically in Green Bay, it is a great stop on the way to Door County! Interesting beer selection, my favorite was the “fluffy clouds” something. HIGHLY recommend the Fried Brussels Sprouts.

Toft Point State Natural Area

Little/no parking and a bit confusing to find any trails, so not really worth the visit.

Toft Point

BaySide Tavern

Decent eats, convenient location to Peninsula State Park!

Chef’s Hat Cafe

Honestly, this was pretty bad. Could be it was their last night open to the season but I’m not sure even that was an excuse. Would not recommend at all.
